QBE Switzerland

QBE expanded into the Swiss insurance market in 1995 when QBE European Operations in London gained a foothold in Switzerland through its close collaboration with two Swiss insurance brokers and Lloyd’s cover holders, H.P. Jenni & Partner AG in Zurich and Anex Jenni & Partner AG in Basel.

Initially, the partners offered special motor vehicle insurance solutions through the QBE motor syndicate in the Lloyd's market, and later expanded their range of products to include private and commercial property and liability insurance, valuables insurance, music instrument insurance and earthquake insurance.

In 2007, QBE took over these two companies in a bid to strengthen its presence in Switzerland. The Swiss QBE branch established for this purpose in 2008 received its operating licence from the Federal Office of Private Insurance on 13 November 2008.

From 1 January 2009, the products of all European QBE underwriting divisions are distributed in Switzerland through the Swiss branch.

QBE now wants to establish itself in the Swiss market too as a professional provider of insurance services that differentiates itself by an entrepreneurial approach, unrivalled products and an in-depth market understanding.
