Risk Management

QBE believe that best practice organisations are those where senior individuals facilitate and engage in the processes of sensible risk management. We encourage our clients to set in place the necessary organisational structure, systems and strategies to manage their Insured exposures whilst also meeting their moral, legal and financial obligations.

The QBE Risk Management team provide a range of services to our clients, from expert advice & technical guidance to tailored 'risk based' improvement programmes. Our objective is to work hand in hand with our clients, partner brokers and other stakeholders such that we meet our mutual objectives to affect the premium pricing mechanism as a measure of mutual financial success, and in the context of reducing the frequency and severity of our clients' Insured loss experience.

Working closely with underwriters, our team of risk management professionals draw upon a wealth of experience inherited from a variety of backgrounds and supported by our rehabilitation, claims and other client service functions.

Through their allocated risk manager, our clients can typically access the following services:-

  • Bespoke / tailored risk management approach and advice;
  • Assistance in making the business case for change;
  • Technical advice on relevant risk management, claims and liability related matters via our 'Issues Forum' guidance;
  • QBE Risk Management events and specialist workshops;
  • Access to a network of QBE support services;
  • Partnerships with innovative service providers;
  • Best practice ‘Risk Management Standards’ guidance.
