Insurance Business Transfer – High Court grants Order.

On 30 July the High Court of England and Wales granted an order sanctioning the Scheme to transfer to QBE Insurance (Europe) Limited (QIEL) the interests of Great Lakes Reinsurance (UK) PLC (GLUK) in the Ensign motor book of business written between 2001 and 2004 .  The Transfer became effective at 23:59 on July 31 2008.

QIEL has now replaced GLUK as insurer under each transferred policy. 

Apart from this, the terms of the transferred policies have not changed. The Transfer has not affected in any way your existing arrangements in relation to payments, claims or administrative matters. If you chose to purchase optional legal expenses cover made available under the transferred policies, this cover is not affected.”
